“Columbus and Grandview Heights firefighters are fighting huge flames and clouds of black smoke as they try to control a blaze burning in a number of stores and businesses connected in one common building on Grandview Avenue. Flames and smoke pouring out of at least six businesses on the east side of Grandview Avenue between W. 5th and W. 3rd avenues. At least three Columbus ladders and one from Grandview Heights are shooting water on the buildings. The fire was spotted first around 11 a.m. A woman who said she works at Accent on Nature said a passerby came in the store and told her the building was on fire. When the fire first started, the flames and smoke seemed to concentrated the greatest at Accent on Nature, 1390 Grandview Ave., and the Candle Lab, 1384 Grandview Ave., before spreading to shops and businesses connected on either side. Flames continue to spread through the building, which apparently shares a common attic. The stores and businesses connected to the building include Eyes Only, Harris Opticians, Grandview Avenue Physical Therapy, the Cheesecake Boutique, the Candle Lab, and Accent on Nature.”
