Fuck you.

Fuck you.

Hot Chip  |  ”Flutes”  |  In Our Heads

Oh man, this new Hot Chip record is good.

Oops, I’m a liberal stereotype.

I realized this the other day while (no joke) drinking a latte in my diesel European wagon, driving with the wife to a farmers’ market.

Maybe the only slightly redeeming part of this story (in my mind, at least): we had 2Pac on the radio instead of NPR.

Tonight:

Beach House & Wild Nothings @ Newport.

Divine Fits, the new supergroup of Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs), Britt Daniel (Spoon), and Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks) have announced their first live appearances. They’ll take place in each band member’s hometown: Austin (Daniel), Montreal (Boeckner), and Columbus (Brown).

OH, DID I FORGET TO TELL YOU I GOT A TICKET TO THIS??

Saw this tonight, for its one-night theatrical release, and of course, I thought it was fucking phenomenal. Part documentary, part concert film, part celebratory wake. The intermittent scenes from Chuck Klosterman’s interview with James prior to the final show are insightful and thought-provoking, and show the man really wrestling his decision to end the band. And my god, the music. Every song is a climax.

See it when you can. It won’t disappoint (except, you know, for the sad realization that oh yeah, you just watched the funeral pyre for one of the best bands of its generation).

I just got a $125 Seagull messenger bag for free in exchange for a dorm fridge I had sitting in my basement.
